The Power to Recover.

If you’re looking for the ultimate in left ventricular unloading, our classic TandemHeart kit is the only choice.

Why TandemHeart?

Advanced hemodynamic support devices are designed to offer a high degree of circulatory support. Three percutaneous platforms are commercially available:

(1) percutaneous cardiopulmonary bypass (pCPB)

(2) intraluminal axial support (e.g., Impella)

(3) left atrium-to-femoral artery bypass (TandemHeart)

TandemHeart forged the temporary circulatory support device market with the launch of a one-of-a-kind Transseptal Cannula that offers a unique approach to circulatory support by balancing two critical factors: (1) a powerful pump for end organ perfusion and (2) transseptal cannulation of the left atrium to decompress and rest the left ventricle. Among all your available circulatory support options, only TandemHeart provides a steady supply of oxygenated blood to the organs while decompressing the left ventricle to reduce the work of the heart.

  • Physiologic levels of pressure (90 mmHg) and
  • Full power support (0.8-0.9 Watts) for organ perfusion
  • Maximum left ventricular unloading, up to 80-90%
  • Decreased myocardial oxygen demand for potential

Included Products

TandemHeart Pump

Experience bypass in the palm of your hand. The TandemHeart Pump can be used in the Cardiac Catherization Lab or the Operating Room in a vast variety of configurations

ProtekSolo Transseptal Cannula

The one and only percutaneous option for LA sourcing. The curved distal tip enables optimal placement in the left atrium and features 14 side holes for exceptional drainage.

ProtekSolo Arterial

Safety Enhanced. The Protek Arterial line of cannulae includes two must-have features. A stop ring to prevent over insertion and suture wings for secure attachment ot the patient.

TandemHeart Controller

An electromechanical system with a simple graphical user interface and controls to make patient management easier and safer.

  • Space-saving design weighs just 21 lbs and attaches to a standard IV pole or to the bedside using an integrated mounting bracket
  • Battery backup supports at least one hour of unplugged operation during patient transport
  • 100% redundant primary and back-up control mechanisms
  • Comprehensive self-diagnostics while the patient is on support will alarm to notify the patient caregiver of any problems, reducing the need for constant operator surveillance
